Bad Romance Books

I want your loving
And I want your revenge
You and me could write a bad romance

Okay, I’m not writing any books anytime soon… but I do plan on reading 101 training-related books by this year’s end. I’m only on my 2nd now… still got a long ways to go. Let’s see if all this time invested will pay off… if you know what I mean. :-)

I want your drama
The touch of your hand

LOST is coming back for it’s last season tonight. I’m so excited!!! Who’s with me??!

Work-work fashion baby
Work it

Check out my latest website designs:

Oh-oh-oh-oh-oooh!
(I don’t wanna be friends)

Making enemies is so much easier than making new friends…. but I will give the latter one a try.

This is going to be a great year. I can feel it!

Who Let The Dogs Out On The Internet?

Who let the dogs out (woof, woof, woof, woof)

What has the world come to? Even dogs have blogs now, haha! Ok, jk, who am I to judge? Baby used to blog on my website all the time. :-P I guess the trend has finally caught on! :-)

Check out my cousin’s dog Barney’s blog here: http://iambarney.blogspot.com/

When the party was nice, the party was jumpin’ (Hey, Yippie, Yi, Yo)

My co-worker, Vivian, has a dog blog too. I think her main topic is about Poochie Parties: http://my-puppy-mocha.blogspot.com/ <– Interesting read~ Makes me want to host my own, but too bad Baby doesn’t get along with other doggies. Meanie! :-(

Grammer Police

Sorry me haven’t update in long time. This year try write more story. - Ldyna

(fyi - I intentionally misspelled the title too!)

I Wanna Rock with MJ

I Wanna Rock With You (All Night)
Dance You Into Day (Sunlight)
I Wanna Rock With You (All Night)
We’re Gonna Rock The Night Away

So I was one of the 1.5 million people who tried to get tickets to MJ’s memorial service on Tuesday… unfortunately I did not get selected. :-( Oh wells, I’ll just watch it from the comfort of my own home as recommended.

I must say though.. MJ was a weird dude, but I don’t think he ever did anything wrong. He’s just misunderstood.. like some of us… I know I’m weird and people judge me and make assumptions all the time, tarnishing my reputation because it’s fun (it is, isn’t it? :-P)… but whatevers.. You like me, you like me. You don’t, then you don’t. C’est la vie.

Lyrics from “Rock With You” by Michael Jackson

Boom Boom Pow Brown Chicken Brown Cow

Q: What do you get when you cross a brown chicken and a brown cow?
A: Brown Chicken Brown Cow (don’t get it? sounds like a certain type of movie background music…)

Gotta get-get, gotta get-get
Gotta get-get, gotta g-g-g-get-get-get, get-get

Now that I have a little free time I can finally listen to my music again. Here are some of my favorites of the moment (probably outdated):

  1. “Never Ever” by Ciara
  2. “Goodbye” by Kristinia Debarge
  3. “Know Your Enemy” by Green Day

I got the that rock and roll
That future flow

Congratulations to my cuz Donna who graduated from Medical school!

When, when I step inside the room
Them girls go ape-****, uh

Attended VANG 2009 Gala in Beverly Hills over the weekend. My lovely date was LT (the other LT). Went to Area afterward for a bit. Pretty fun and interesting night.

Hopefully good things will come out of all this hard work. Leyna Nguyen from CBS/KCAL has already contacted me regarding design work for a celebrity poker tournament. :-)

That future boom boom boom
Let me get it now

Looks like I caught a mild case of the cold or flu. My throat is pretty sore and I’m getting boom boom headaches. argh.

I Run LA

Seatbelt beside me baby, LA just drive me crazy.

Yesterday I went to Lakers Game 7 at the Staples Center in LA. Our company had booked somes suites for our clients and I was invited since I coordinated the event. I was running around, organizing, chatting, and taking pictures the whole time so I didn’t really get a chance to enjoy the game. Four hours flew by so quickly! But it was cool to finally go to a game…wished it was a little more exciting though.

Not once, we go till we get it right.

So I’ve been working on VANG’s magazine design for the past few weeks and I finally finished it today! Boy that thing took up a huge chunk of my time. I had to cancel and postpone so many things. (Sorry!) The event is this Saturday…can’t wait. It’s been a while since I’ve dressed up and gone out.

We can share, its an all in affair

I wasn’t planning on doing anything special for my birthday this year, but it looks like we’ll be taking a girls only Vegas trip. woot!! If you guys wanna join us let me know! (Girls only!) I’m going to continue working crazy hours for a couple more weeks and then take some time off to vacation and visit family after. Can’t wait!

Ok that’s it for me.. not much has happened.. just work. Hopefully I’ll have juicier things to write about next time.

To my fellow Lost buddies: 2010 is too far away! I can’t wait to find out what happens next season… here are a few of my theories:

  • Jacob will turn into a white smoke monster.
  • The bomb at the end will beam all the Losties back into the present (sans Juliette), but not necessarily erase the past
  • If the past does get erased, then all the Losties will end up in the present but parallel universe where everything is different (and then they’ll want to go back to the past to unerase things again.. hahah omg im getting a headache)

Ok, at least I know this show is ending next year. This 7 year commitment better be worth it!!!

Lynduh’s Poker Face

Mum mum mum mah
Mum mum mum mah

Mum mah apologies. It’s been a while since I’ve updated this blog. I hope my stalkers readers are still out there. (Hi! :-)) Work has been pretty crazy busy lately… I guess that’s a good thing considering this economy.

Anyhoo, here are a few of my latest music picks (they might be outdated… I meant to post this months ago):

  1. Knock You Down - Keri Hilson, Kanye West, and Ne-Yo
  2. Hatin’ on the Club - Rihanna
  3. We Love LA - Ya Boy ft. Dr. Hollywood

I wanna hold em’ like they do in Texas, please
Fold em’ let em’ hit me, raise it baby, stay with me
Luck and intuition play the cards with spades to start
And after he’s been hooked I’ll play the one that’s on his heart

I was on quite a lucky streak last month. Won 5 big ones in a GPT (Ghetto Poker Tournament) in Santa Ana. A couple weeks later I won $$$ + bragging rights for life in a Heads Up battle against Adawg.

Charlene (read her Hydroxycut success story here) got me hooked on some type of rummy mahjong game. It’s pretty fun, even though I’m terrible at it. :-\

Seems like I’m always blogging about GAMBLING. I’m not addicted, I swear!

I wanna roll with him a hard pair we will be
A little gambling is fun when you’re with me

I took a trip up north with some friends last month, and surprisingly we did not gamble the entire time!

Flew in Friday night. Although we had many options, we chose to stay in for a movie night. :-P Watched Mulholland Drive - highly recommended if you like weird movies such as Donnie Darko… or if you like watching “2 chicks!” :-x

We spent the entire Saturday in San Francisco and stayed at the Hilton hotel. Took the trolley from downtown to Fisherman’s Wharf for lunch. Although it was a fun experience, I will never ride on one ever again. The lines are ridiculously long and the trip takes for-ev-ev-ev forever. Went shopping for a little bit. Had dinner at Panta Rei Cafe - their eggplant lasagna was to die for! yummers. Afterwards we hung out at Apt 24 Bar/Club with a bunch of Mike’s and Adawg’s doctor and dentist friends. yawn. (hehe :-P)

Thank goodness Kimbo Slice (and Freddie Mac) joined us. She always brings more life to the party! P.S. I want what she’s having.

Here’s a group pic of the UCR crew:

Good times!

On Sunday, we had brunch at Universal Cafe - highly recommended as well.. their menu changes every day. I had Biscuits & Gravy with Poached Egg + side of potatoes. Mmm! Later that night we celebrated Mike’s early birthday with some Japanese Teppan and Marie Callendar’s apple pie. Oh and let’s not forget - we also spent most of the day watching How to Catch a Predator….. .. … don’t ask.

Just like a chick in the casino
Take your bank before I pay you out
I promise this, promise this
Check this hand ’cause I’m marvelous

So yeah, work is crazy busy. I’m actually doing real marketing stuff now which is awesome.

Lynq Media is co-sponsoring VANG 2009 in Beverly Hills. I’m busy prepping for that, among other things. Let me know if you are interested in attending or sponsoring as well!

So in case you haven’t figured it out yet, I’m trying a new thing where I relate lyrics of a song to parts of my blog entries. I hope it isn’t lame! Well, if you hang out with me in real life, you’ll find that I like to break out into song sometimes so this is only fitting. Til next time - hopefully, not long!

American Paper Planes

I fly like paper, get high like planes

Did you know that it’s cheaper to book American Airlines flights directly through AA.com instead of Hotwire, Priceline, or Orbitz and etc.? I’m not sure if this is the case for other airlines. The other cool thing about AA.com is that it let’s you HOLD your tickets for at least one day. That gives you some time to decide whether you want to purchase or not.

All I wanna do is (BANG BANG BANG BANG!)
And (KKKAAAA CHING!)
And take your money

My recent Vegas trip was not as profitable as my previous one in January, but it’s all good. While we were playing at Caesar’s they were filming an NBC Heads Up Tournament in the back so we got to see all the famous poker players there like Scotty Nguyen, Phil Ivey, Daniel Negreanu, Sam Farha, and so on… Don Cheadle and Brad Garrett were also there. There was one hot blonde who made it pretty far… Vanessa Rousso. She’s an official GoDaddy.com spokesmodel. A few of us entered a small tournament but I didn’t get very far :-(. One of us placed 5th I think.  :-P

No one on the corner has swagger like us

We went to Tao nightclub at the Venetian on Saturday night. Thanks to Char and her hookup, we were able to get like 20 people in with no cover charge or waiting in line. VIP baby!

Already going hell just pumping that gas

On our way back home we made a few stops:

1) Alien Fresh Jerky in Baker, CA - Obviously, this place sells beef jerky. There’s a fake car parked outside with alien mannequins inside. The store itself wasn’t as space themed as I thought it would be, but still a cool place to check out if you can. A regular sized bag of beef jerky costs $8. I got one bag of Honey Teriyaki and now wish I had bought more. It’s so good!

2) Peggy Sue’s Diner in Yermo, CA - This is a 50s themed diner off the 15 freeway. We had a little trouble finding it because Google Maps led us the wrong way - beware! Some of the customers inside were creepy looking - very reminiscent of the Eyes Have Hills type people haha. But the decor inside is very entertaining and food was actually pretty decent. I had the chicken fried steak with baked potato and cornbread… mmm! I will definitely come back again.

Ayo Technology Dependencies

You got me saying
Ayo, I’m tired of using technology

With all different ways of communicating these days (MySpace, Facebook, AIM, etc.), one would think that people are more connected now than ever. But I wonder - are we depending so much on technology that we are actually disconnecting ourselves from the real world?

Kind of ironic coming from a Computer Science major, right? Well, I admit that I am a total internet junkie and have been for many many years. After my recent trip to Vietnam, I started realizing that many people, including myself, have been taking certain things for granted, particularly human interaction.

Lately, I’ve been making more effort to meet with family and friends in person - through dinners, video games, fondue, poker nights, and other events. One thing I try to avoid is clubbing because the environment is way too noisy for any meaningful conversations (plus I don’t even like to dress up or drink alcohol).

Anyhow, I’m amazed at how much reaction I got from my recent Facebook status change from “In a Relationship” to “Single”. I got more phone calls and comments in one day than I usually do in a whole month. Why does it take a seemingly negative event for one person to get in touch with another…when we should probably be communicating with one another on a more regular and personal basis? I’m guilty as charged.

Baby, this a new age, you’re like my new craze

I’ve contemplated cancelling all my online profile accounts before, but so many people depend on those things to get in touch with me that if I do, I’m afraid I won’t ever hear from then again and vice versa. We’re so dependent, sometimes even obsessive with these types of communications, that we often lose ourselves in it.

Girl Scout Cookie Jar

Can’t keep my hands, my hands, my, uh, my
Can’t keep my hands, my hands my hands out the cookie jar.

Guess what? It’s Girl Scout Cookies season! I’ve been waiting for this all year. Beware of price gouging! I’m not going to name names, but someone I know paid $5/box (they are supposed to be $4/box). The girl scouts told him/her that they usually cost $6 but for him/her it would only cost $5 - so after he/she bought 3 boxes, the girls ended up pocketing $3. I should write a complaint letter.

Anyways, I’m picking mine up in 1 hour. P.S. I’m not sharing.
