Hydroxycut
Oct 28th
My good friend Charlene was part of a special diet program for Hydroxycut. She lost an amazing 55 pounds in less than a year! I’ve seen her ads everywhere - TV, US Weekly, People, etc.. Here’s a YouTube clip of the commercial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cc1PKXU78pc
The photos are NOT photoshopped. She look’s gorgeous now..I’m very proud of her. Highly recommended for anyone looking to lose some weight. (Eating healthy and exercise required!)
Speaking of diets, I’ve been getting a little chunky in the tummy area. Vic and I have been running recently to burn off some calories. Exercise is tiring and time consuming!! argh!
JailBroke
Oct 20th
Last night I JailBroke my iPhone 3g, and it was a lot easier than I thought it would be. Now I have a bunch of new crazy apps - including SCRABBLE!!! - and also a video recorder. Here’s a good source if you’re interested: http://ipodtouched.net
Went to a new nightclub in Anaheim this past weekend with my cousins. It’s called Heat Ultra Lounge and is located inside the Anaheim Gardenwalk — pretty similar to The Grove. The place reminds me of V20 but a much smaller version. Cover charge - $20, mixed crowd… cool place to check out at least once. I’m more interested in returning for the shopping center..didn’t know that place existed!
Did anyone catch The Simpsons last night on Fox? There was a funny quote that went something like “Daddy, I wanted a Range Rover, not a LAND Rover. sigh!”.. well it’s only funny if you know a lot about these types of cars. Land Rover is a ‘make’ and the models they have are the LR2, LR3, Range Rover Sport and Range Rover. It all sounds the same but they are completely different from each other. har-d-har-har? Why does everyone keep pressuring me to buy rims?
Fondue
Oct 17th
This month I went to Melting Pot three times. Once out of the blue, once for Vic’s moms bday, and another for Adawgs bday. That place is not cheap! But the experience and ambience is well worth it. Highly recommended for couples and anyone else who wants to try something different.
So after spending mucho moola at that restaurant, I decided to invest in a fondue pot for home use… I smell plenty o’ fondue parties at Lynduh’s coming up.
Going to a fancy buffet tonight for Tommy’s bday…word on the street is that it’s better than any Vegas buffet. I guess we’ll see if it’s true or not…
SegFault: Yahoo E-mail Password Recovery
Oct 8th
As some of you may know, Alaskan governor / republican VP candidate Sarah Palin’s Yahoo e-mail account was recently hacked into by a University of Tennessee student. Yahoo e-mail users who want to recover their passwords are required to provide their e-mail addresses, ZIP code, and date of birth. They must then answer a security question.. which is usually a no-brainer if you know the person pretty well. It doesn’t take a very smart person to accomplish this…just someone with A LOT of time on their hands.
What some of you might not know is that my own personal lynnieda Yahoo e-mail account was also hacked into (way before Palin’s did) - along with a few others I will leave unnamed - by one of my stalkers..I have so many now I’ve lost count. It amazes me how many people find my dull existence interesting.
Palin’s hacker is going to be indicted by a Grand Jury and faces up to 5 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Of course, this dude is getting a big hit because he messed with a well known public figure. Someone like me with no status would probably only get away with a restraining order…but that’s better than nothing. Better safe than sorry!
So the moral of this story is - Yahoo e-mail sucks! If this could happen to Palin, me, etc… this could happen to anybody. Yahoo has not made any announcements of improving their password recovery system in any way. I recommend you to switch from Yahoo to more secure e-mail systems such as Gmail or Hotmail.
Dry Skin and Bones
Oct 2nd
One thing you may not have known about me is that I’ve been battling super dry and sensitive skin my entire life. I’m allergic to almost all lotions, cleansers, lipstick, chapstick, and so on.. The past six months or so have been the worst ever, which was a big reason why I didn’t go out as much and drowned myself in work to keep busy. It’s discouraging being seen in public with this condition.
Symptoms: dryness, peeling, flaking, redness, and itchiness on my facial skin
Things I tried, but didn’t work:
- Not wearing ANY makeup for a whole week
- Not using facial cleanser the next week
- Not using any facial products for a few days (the dryness got even worse! eek!)
- Using a new face lotion that was supposedly hypoallergenic - boy did I find out the hard way! I looked like Freddy Kruger for a whole weekend
The last trial was the last straw for me.. I decided to make use of my health insurance and went to a dermatologist. I was diagnosed with genetically inherited dry skin. (Great! Just what I wanted to hear, NOT!) And lucky ole me, this condition is incurable. :sigh: The best they could do was write me a prescription for Protopic to help reduce redness from the bad face lotion incident - $130 a pop! Ack!
While I was waiting for my prescription at the pharmacy, I decided to pick up some Cetaphil cream and facial wash - over $20 worth. I know this brand has been out for ages, but I just never gave it a shot…I’m skeptical about everything at this point. So I’ve been using it for over a week now and guess what..my skin is completely smooth! w0ot!
